Influence of compliance to atorvastatin on the lipid profile and progression of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes type 2
The study assessed the effect f compliance to atorvastatin, the drug Livostor (“Kyiv Vitamin Factory”) on lipid profile and progress of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes after aorto-coronary bypass surgery. High compliance (31% of patients) to lipid-lowering therapy with Livostor at the average daily dose of 20–40 mg was associated with the optimization of plasma lipid profile of patients and slowing of coronary atherosclerosis according to the repeated angiographies. The observed changes indicate the need for absolute compliance to the treatment in order to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in patients with ischemic heart disease and type 2 diabetes after aorto-coronary bypass surgery.
