Nebivolol and betaxolol therapy effectiveness evaluation in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
In this study comparative assessment of administration of two beta-blockers — nebivolol and betaxolol, — their clinical and hemodynamic rates, transmitral blood flow characteristics and paroxysmal/persistent non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) course was made. The following conclusions were made: to sustain sinus rhythm it is preferable to use nebivolol (Nebival) in women and in patients with a long history of hypertension, high systolic blood pressure, high functional class of heart failure and heart attack in their history. In patients with idiopathic form of AF, paroxysmal AF and a history of stroke to prevent attacks of AF it is better to use betaxolol (Betakor). Administration of both nebivolol (Nebival) and betaxolol (Betakor) in patients with non-valvular AF improves clinical course of disease, provides effective control of heart rate, blood pressure, reduction of the symptoms of heart failure, makes positive effect on left ventricular diastolic function.
