Avanafil for the treatment of men with erectile dysfunction
Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Previous studies have reported data on the clinical efficacy of avanafil in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, but their results have been quite controversial. This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the safety and efficacy of avanafil in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Necessary meta-analysis studies were selected from bases such as Embase, PubMed and the Cochrane Library. Clinical results were evaluated by such indicators as successful vaginal penetration rate (CVI), successful sexual intercourse rate (UCA), International Index of Erectile Function (EEF-EF) domain, and compared using RevMan v.5.3. Eight randomized controlled trials involving 2398 patients were included in the meta-analysis. The analysis showed that, compared to placebo, the rates of successful vaginal penetration, successful sexual intercourse, and IIEF-EF were higher in the avanafil group. The evidence suggests that avanafil may be the drug of choice for treating erectile dysfunction due to its high efficacy and proven safety profile.
