                    To increase the maximum pain-free walking distance in patients with intermittent claudication who do not have pain at rest and signs of peripheral tissue necrosis (Fontaine’s peripheral arterial disease, stage II). It is used as second-line therapy for patients whose lifestyle changes (including smoking cessation and controlled exercise programmes) and other appropriate measures have not led to a significant reduction in the symptoms of intermittent claudication.
