For the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adult patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NAF) and one or more risk factors such as congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA) in history, aged 75 years and older.

For the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as for the prevention of recurrence of DVT and PE in adults (see section “Precautions for use” for patients with PE with unstable hemodynamic parameters).
